Celtic jewelry made in Ireland by Solvar Jewellery, Dublin. This contemporary green hand blown glass heart bead with the Newgrange spiral design is suspended on a black 16 inch cord. A two inch extender and lobster claw closure enables the length to be increased up to 18 inches.

Newgrange, which predates the Egyptian pyramids, is one of Ireland's celebrated ancient Celtic archaeological sites. At the entrance to Newgrange stands a large boulder carved with these three entwined spiral decorations. Spirals often appear in Celtic art, holding a symbolic meaning that remains a mystery to those of us living in the modern world.

This three-dimensional hand blown glass heart bead is 3/4 of an inch from top to bottom, not including the piece which attaches it to the cord, and is 1/2 of an inch deep from front to back.
